Cosmetic Smile Make Over, Gum Tissue

This patient presents with uneven gums and short teeth. In this case we can remove excess gum tissue and lengthen the teeth in one simple visit. The gum tissue has overgrown the natural crown/enamel on all of this patients front teeth. A procedure involving Lumineers (veneers) are not required to change this smile. The gingivectomy is quick and mostly pain free after the procedure is completed. The patient is now able to smile with confidence.

After having his braces removed, this patient presented to our office with decay on his front teeth and overgrown gum tissue that made his teeth look to be very short. His mother thought that permanent teeth looked as if they were his baby teeth. We were able to fix the decay on his front teeth very easily with tooth colored fillings. After the removal of the excess gum tissue (gingivectomy) his teeth now appear longer and much more proportional. This young man now has a more even looking smile. Now if we could only get him to start brushing a little better….
