1Cosmetic Denture This patient came into the office with an older denture that was worn out. There was numerous staining and many worn down teeth. The teeth in her old denture were a darker shade, masculine in appearance and set too short in relation to the lip line. We changed the color which is obvious, but we also increased the amount of tooth that shows when the patient smiles. Also, observe the shape of the teeth in the before and after pictures. The teeth in her before photograph are the shape you would see on a set of dentures designed for a man, not a woman. This is a much younger, much more feminine look for this patient. We also chose a much more expensive and cosmetic denture tooth was chosen. Even if you do not change the color, the shape and quality of the denture teeth can make a huge difference in appearance. Cheap denture teeth do not absorb and reflect light properly and add to the fake teeth appearance. In the end we were able to make a new set of dentures that made her smile brighter and whiter. The patient is very pleased with the shape, color and fit of her new dentures. 2Cosmetic Denture, Sedation Dentistry, Gum Disease This patient presents with several broken teeth and some evident decay. She was at a point where she was unable to eat or smile. She knew that she needed dental work done, but was just too afraid to follow through with the process. Sedation dentistry was used to extract her upper teeth and place a complete cosmetic denture. The teeth were able to match her existing teeth on the lower which we were able to fix with some fillings. Her lower teeth were also treated for periodontal (gum) disease. The patient is very pleased and is now able to smile with confidence. She can also chew her food better and is not embarrassed to go out eat with her friends after church. |
