19Cosmetic Smile Make Over, Gum Reshaping This patient has what appeared to be short, worn teeth. Her teeth had been worn on the biting edge, but she actually has excess gum tissue that is covering her enamel. The excess gum tissue makes her teeth appear to be shorter and smaller than they should. We simply removed the excess gum tissue (called a gingivectomy) and exposed the enamel underneath allowing her teeth to show. We also rounded off the corners of her front teeth to help soften their appearance. She now has a very nice smile and did not need Lumineers (veneers) to correct her cosmetic smile concerns. |
