This patient came to us very displeased with her smile. Her smile has made it embarrassing for her to smile at work and when out with friends and family. Her past experiences at the dentist has led to a severe dental phobia. It has been many years since she has visited the dentist for anything more than a one visit emergency visit. She had old upper and lower partials that were broken and stained. With the aid of sedation dentistry we removed her upper teeth and made her a cosmetic denture. We also made a new lower cosmetic partial denture. Her smile is now white, bright and pretty. She is now able to smile with confidence. We did all of her dental work in two visits. One visit for the impressions for the dentures and the second visit with oral sedation to extract teeth, treat periodontal (gum) disease, and deliver the new dentures. The sedation dentistry allowed the patient to overcome her fear of the dentist and now has a smile that she is proud to show everyone.
