Cosmetic Denture, Sedation Dentistry, Gum Disease

This patient presents with mobile, decaying teeth. We were unable to save them due to the severe bone loss and periodontal (gum disease) disease. The gum disease had destroyed the bone holding his teeth in place. The patient was aware that gum disease could also affect his heart disease, and he was concerned about this connection. This patient has a severe fear of the dentist. He had put off the dentist until it was too late to do anything other than extract all of his teeth. While the patient relaxed with sedation dentistry, we removed his teeth and placed a complete upper and lower denture. The sedation dentistry made it possible for him to follow through with his needed dental work. And now he has a great smile again.
