When this patient came into the office he was very concerned about the appearance of his teeth. He had severely bad breath and was unsure of what was occurring with his gums. He has a classic case of periodontal (gum disease) disease. After a periodontal scaling (deep cleaning) this patient is able to smile again. He no longer has concerns of breath odor or buildup at his gums. With routine cleanings he will be able to maintain a healthy smile. One reason for this patient ignoring his oral health, was his fear of dental procedures. He was able to have his dental work completed with the aid of sedation dentistry. This patient has no memory of having his teeth and gums cleaned, or the shots needed to complete the cleaning.

This patient was having a difficult time eating due to his dentures moving and sliding when he would eat or drink. Denture adhesives were not strong enough to keep his dentures in place and for him to feel comfortable when he was out eating with friends and family. We placed six dental implants, four on the upper arch and two on the lower arch. The implant procedure was completed with the help of sedation dentistry, as this patient was concerned about pain and discomfort. The upper denture fits so tightly, he now has a difficult time removing his upper denture. Such a problem to have with a denture! This patient came into the office very displeased with the look and fit of his upper partial. One of his teeth was broken and the other had a lot of decay. We repaired his partial denture by adding two teeth to the partial denture. We also placed locator attachments on the two underlying root tips to hold his denture in place without movement. He is very pleased with the look and fit. He can now smile and eat comfortably.

This patient first visited our office with an interest in sedation dentistry. Before he had completed his needed dentistry, he was in a near death auto accident. He lost many teeth in the accident, and it contributed to a loss of self esteem and depression. His case was very complex and we enlisted the help of our local oral surgeon. The oral surgeon placed bone grafts and dental implants to restore this patients smile. The entire process took more than a year to complete. When all of his teeth were finally restored, the results were outstanding. His smile looks great and he finally feels that this part of his healing process is complete.

Esthetically, a partial denture clasp would have not looked very nice on her front teeth. We were able to solve her problem with the placement of a dental implant. The dental implant allows her partial denture to snap into place without movement. She is very pleased with the look and fit of her partial denture. She can smile and eat comfortably. This patient chose to have sedation dentistry during the placement of her dental implant.

This patient presents with a missing tooth. The patient has the choice to have a traditional bridge, or place a dental implant. In this situation, the traditional bridge option would require cutting on the two adjacent healthy teeth. The dental implant option would not require any cutting or drilling on the two adjacent teeth. The pictures show the missing tooth. The dental implant with the abutment placed and the final crown cemented on the abutment. The patient chose to have the implant placement procedure performed with sedation dentistry. She is now able to use her implant as a natural tooth.

He had a fear of having dental work done but he had made his mind up that he was ready to get his smile back. Sedation dentistry allowed us to extract his remaining lower teeth and place dental implants to retain a lower denture. His lower denture now snaps into the dental implants and stay in place for him. We made a new upper denture to fit better as well. The patient is able to smile with pride and has no fear of losing his lower denture while eating or talking.

This patient came into the office with loose teeth on the bottom and a loose denture on the top. She has a healthy fear of dental procedures, and has type I and II diabetes.

She was not interested in a lower denture because she had heard that they could be very difficult to keep in place and hard to eat with.

We were able to place locator attachments on two of her natural teeth and place two dental implants with locator attachments to hold her lower denture in place when talking and eating. She also had a new upper denture made to enhance both cosmetic and functional qualities she requested.

It was a long process for the implants to heal and to finally have her lower denture snap into place. Now that she can eat and smile with the worry of her upper or lower denture falling out of her mouth, the process was worth it to her.
