Procedure

Dr. Weaver will take an impression of the tooth that needs a crown and then send it to a dental lab for the crown to be created. While your crown is being fabricated, Dr. Weaver will reshape the remaining tooth to prepare it for the crown. If required, you may be provided with a temporary crown until the permanent crown is ready.

Once your dental crown is fabricated, a return visit to our Rivergate Dental Care practice is needed to place the dental crown. Dr. Weaver will then replace the temporary crown with your permanent porcelain crown which will be cemented permanently.

Recovery time

After the procedure to place the porcelain crown, you should avoid eating and drinking for a few hours to let the adhesive set properly. However, there won’t be any pain and the results should be beautiful.
